Emergency call-outs

Roof leaking? We answer seven days a week

Storm damage and a leak through the ceiling do not wait for Monday morning. Call and we will make the roof safe, sheet it so the water stops coming in, and come back to put it right properly.

Honest advice

We tell you what the roof needs, not what sells

If the covering is sound and the fault is in one place, we repair it. If a roof has needed patching three winters running, you will get told that replacing it works out cheaper over time. Either way you get the straight answer, not the bigger job.

It starts with finding the real problem. A damp patch on the ceiling is rarely right under the hole. Water runs along the felt and down a rafter before it drips, so the stain can sit several feet from where the roof is actually letting in.

Finding the true entry point means looking from the roof and from inside the loft. It takes longer, and it is the difference between a repair that holds and one you pay for twice.

How it works

From your first call to the finished job

The same four steps whether it is one slipped tile or a full new roof.

  1. Step 01

    Get in touch

Tell us what issue you are having with your roof. A photo of the problem and your postcode is often all we need to get started.

  2. Step 02

    Free survey

We inspect the roof and, where it matters, the loft space too, so every part of the roof is properly checked before anything is quoted.

  3. Step 03

    Fair quote

An itemised quote covering access, materials, labour and clearance, so there is nothing to add later.

  4. Step 04

    Start to finish

We book a date that suits you and carry out the work from start to finish.

Why choose us

A local team you can actually get hold of

Marshall Roofing and Building Services has been working on roofs across Berkshire, Surrey and West London for many years. We're a team of professionals, and most of our work now comes from recommendations, because we make sure every job is done to an excellent standard and we care about the work we do.

When you call us, you'll speak to an expert, a roofer with many years of experience, who can tell you what's likely wrong and what it takes to put right. We give you honest advice and the best possible recommendation for your situation.

You'll get a fixed price upfront, so you know exactly what you're paying before we lift a tile, and it doesn't change once we're up there.

Slipped tiles, full re-roofs, flat roofs, chimneys, leadwork and roofline, all of it handled by our own team, properly scaffolded and covered by public liability insurance. We sheet up, clear as we go, and leave your drive and garden the way we found them.

Every job comes with a written guarantee. We're a local firm with a fixed address, not a number that stops working once the scaffolding comes down, and we cover all three counties seven days a week, with emergencies answered the same day.

FAQs

Common questions

Which areas do you cover?

Berkshire, Surrey and West London. That includes Reading, Wokingham, Bracknell, Maidenhead, Windsor, Staines-upon-Thames, Feltham, Kingston upon Thames, Richmond, Surbiton, Epsom, Walton-on-Thames, Camberley and Twickenham, plus the areas around them.

When can I get hold of you?

Calls are answered from 7am to 7pm, seven days a week, on 0800 046 8132. You can also send a WhatsApp message or use the enquiry form and we will come back to you.

Do you look at the roof before quoting?

Yes. A price given from the pavement is a guess. The roof gets inspected, and the loft too where the problem is a leak, before anything is quoted.

Is it a repair or does the whole roof need doing?

If the covering is sound and the fault is in one area, repair it. If the same roof has needed several repairs in a few years, or the battens and felt are failing generally, replacing it usually costs less over time. You will get told which one you are looking at rather than sold the bigger job.

Do I need scaffolding?

A full re-roof and most chimney work does, and it is priced in from the start rather than added afterwards. Smaller repairs can often be done from a tower or ladders.

Can you help after storm damage?

Yes. The first job is making the roof safe and getting it sheeted so water stops coming in, then inspecting it properly once the weather has passed. Photographs from the roof are taken so you have something to send an insurer.

Do you remove spray foam insulation?

Yes. Foam in the loft causes problems with mortgages and surveys because it hides the roof timbers. It gets scraped back, the timbers are inspected and reported on, and any membrane the removal damaged is replaced.
