The work
Finding where the water actually gets in
A roof repair can be anything from a single slipped tile to storm damage across a whole slope. We replace cracked and missing tiles or slates, re-bed ridge and hips, re-dress lead flashing and renew failed valley linings. It starts with finding where the water is actually getting in, because water runs along the battens and rafters before it drops, so the damp patch on your ceiling is often several feet from the real fault.
Fixing the actual entry point rather than sealing the nearest visible gap is the difference between a repair that lasts and one that comes back with the next spell of driving rain. A sound repair also buys the rest of the roof time, so you are not pushed into a full re-roof before you need one.
We look from the roof and from inside the loft before we quote, and we tell you straight whether it is a quick fix or a sign the covering is on its way out. You get a written price first, the work done when we say, and the old tiles and offcuts taken away.

What you get
What is included
The process
How roof repairs normally runs
- 01
Call and describe it
Where the damp is showing and when it appears tells us a lot before anyone climbs up.
- 02
Inspect
The roof and the loft both get looked at, because the entry point is rarely above the stain.
- 03
Price the repair
You get the cause, the fix and the price, plus an honest word if the roof is past repairing.
- 04
Carry out the work
Most repairs are a single visit. Access is off ladders or a tower where the pitch allows, scaffold where it does not.
Pricing
What moves the price
Every roof is different, so the quote follows a look at yours rather than a figure over the phone. The roof, and the loft where the fault is a leak, both get checked before anything is priced.
The quote you get back is itemised: access, materials, labour and clearing the site. Where the job needs scaffold, that goes in the figure from the start, not added later. The points on the right are what make the biggest difference to where the price lands.
What we look at
- How accessible the affected part of the roof is
- Whether the work can be done off a tower or needs scaffold
- How many tiles, slates or lengths of flashing need replacing
- Whether the covering is still available or needs a matched substitute
